The Bernese Mountain Dog is an outdoor dog, although he also behaves well indoors. He likes to exercise, eventhough he doesn’t have much stamina. He is very smart , easy to train and an excellent guard dog although his character is not so dominant.

He needs to be with his family instead of being locked up in a cage or patio. This breed is very sensible and needs the loving care of his master. They are very patient and affectionate with children. In addition , they get along well with other animals and strangers.

The Bernese takes time to become mature, you can see that at 3 years old he tends to play as if he were a puppy. Generally speaking this breed is affectionate, steady and patient.
