Origin

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is originated developed in the United Kingdom. The Cavalier Charles got its name from the favorite pet of Britain King Charles.

They is descended from King Charles Spaniel and were interbred with pugs in the late 1600’s.Many old potraits show dogs are look like today Cavaliers.  The Cavalier beginning show in AKC Toy Dogs Group at 1996.

These breeds of dogs was registered in the AKC in 1996.

Coat

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a adorable, gentle and friendly toy dog breeds. He has a rounded head, large dark eyes, and a full muzzle body. The ears are long, feathering and dropped. The tail is long and is sometime docked.

His coat is soft and silky with feathering on the chest ,ears, tail and legs. His coats is medium to long and is silky.

The coat colors comes with tri-color, ruby, red, white, and black.

Training

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is intelligent and eager to learn, yet is guileless. The early socialization training is needed, and housetraining can be challenge. Without the early socialization training, some of them can be shy. They will respond very well to gentle training and highly praise.

The training should train with fairness, firmness, and consistency. Training is also important for them, as this breed is easy to spoil yet needs the same rules and guidance that other breeds require. You need to set the rules and limits for them to follow, what they allowed to do and what are not allowed.

Grooming 

They requires a regular grooming. They need to brush with a firm bristle brush or comb with curry comb every other day, as the long and silky coat can mat. Bathe or dry shampoo when is necessary.

The hair between the pads on the feet need to trim always. Always clean the ears inside as their ears tangling and matting should be brush often.  It is needed to be clean inside of the ears regularly.

Remember to always check their eyes for prevent any infection.Daily grooming is needed if they play and run through the brush or wet grass.
